Debbie Edwards Workshop

The North Platte Woodcarvers hosted a 2 1/2 day Debbie Edwards realistic animal carving workshop in November of 2001. Two projects were offered, a lynx/bobcat face and a ram bust. Normally Deb prefers to teach just one project to her classes but since the students were split half and half on preference she decided to instruct on both.

Each student worked from a roughout and the first half day was spent cleaning and blocking in. Deb taught the class about bone structure and feature placement, without going too in depth and loosing everyone. A timer was used when it came to individual instruction which gave everyone equal one on one assistance. Study cast and multiple pictures provided the class with plenty of reference material.

To host a animal carver of this level was a real treat. We hope to invite Debbie back in the future for another great session.
