3rd Annual ARTISTRY IN WOOD Show & Sale

Competition Rules


  1. Judging will be held Saturday beginning at 10:00 am
  2. Competition open only to paying show participants.
  3. All entries must be carved and painted by the person who enters it.  If someone else aided in the completion of the project, that person’s name must also appear on the entry form.
  4. All carvings which won an award at last year’s NPWC show are not eligible.
  5. All carvings must be wood, glass eyes may be used on all carvings, cast feet on birds.
  6. Two carvings may be entered in each category per carver
  7. No carving may be entered in more than one category
  8. Must have 4 or more entries in each category, if not those entries will be placed in an additional miscellaneous category at the end.
  9. Two dollars entry fee per carving
  10. Only one of the two entries may receive a ribbon, the second one may receive an honorable mention
  11. Judge or a Competition Committee Representative may categorize any carving which is inappropriately entered and may withdraw any objectionable material following consultation with the participant
  12. The judges’ decisions will be final
  13. THE AWARDS:
    1. Best of Show
    2. Best of Show, Honorable Mention
    3. Best Booth / Display Award
    4. Category awards, three places, plus honorable mention at judges’ discretion
  14. Carvers are urged to leave their carving on display both days

 

 

Any changes to the rules will be announced before the show begins.  Judges and the competition committee are very careful when handling entries and yet, you enter at your own risk.  The North Platte Wood Carvers Club cannot be held responsible for any lost or damaged items.

 

ENTRY PROCEDURE

  1. If your name shows on your carving, it must be covered.
  2. Bring your carvings to the competition table as that category is announced.
  3. A tag will be fastened to each carving entered at the competition table.
  4. Competition will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday.
